This is Baltimore Creators — a weekly digest of what's being built here, who's building it, and what's worth showing up for.
There's a lot happening this week. Here's what matters.
This Week's Signal
Baltipreneurs Accelerator Demo Day — Thursday, March 19, 6:30–9 PM, McGuire Hall, Andrew White Student Center, Loyola University Maryland. Eleven Baltimore ventures pitching. $25K in awards. 94% of Baltipreneurs founders are underrepresented. Free and open to the public. Ventures include Cajou Creamery, BioBuild, Coach G Academy, and eight others. If you want to see who's actually building in Baltimore right now, this is the room.
Technical.ly RealLIST 2026 — First Statewide Edition — For the first time, Technical.ly expanded the RealLIST beyond Baltimore metro to cover all of Maryland. 20 companies named across biotech, AI, cybersecurity, and energy. If you're building in this state and you haven't read it, start there.
GBUL Business Summit & Pitch Competition — Free summit on April 23 at the Rita Rossi Colwell Center. Greater Baltimore Urban League is running panels, an exhibitor floor, and a pitch competition for Maryland entrepreneurs. Worth having on the calendar.
TEDCO Entrepreneur Expo — October 27 — TEDCO announced the keynote lineup for their 12th annual Entrepreneur Expo, moving to the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor this year. Over 1,170 attended last year. Mark it now — this is the statewide summit worth planning around.
SIID Technologies shuts down — This isn't a Baltimore story directly, but it should be read by every Maryland founder with government contract exposure. Eri O'Diah was onboarding 750 public defenders when DOGE cuts eliminated the market. The federal spending environment is real and it's affecting startups. Read it.
Mainsail Angel Network — Salisbury University is launching a new angel investor group for companies with Chesapeake Bay and Eastern Shore connections. Three summer pitch events planned. Recruiting companies now. You don't have to be headquartered on the Eastern Shore — a climate tech startup with Chesapeake Bay applications qualifies.
Builder to Watch
Sean Kerr / Novawerke AI — Sean is building Abbie, what he describes as the world's first low-SWaP edge intelligence platform — AI that runs at the edge, without cloud dependency, in hardware-constrained environments. He also teaches AI at Johns Hopkins Engineering and runs SeanWillTeachYouAI.org. Edge AI doesn't get nearly enough coverage in the Baltimore tech ecosystem. It's a serious hardware-meets-software problem and Sean is working it from multiple angles simultaneously.
